Center Stage Gallery is proud to present Project Neverland, a group exhibition featuring bold new visions of Peter Pan and his world. Forty artists share their unique depictions of Neverland, bringing fresh life to J.M. Barrie’s classic story. The show is sponsored by The Creative Talent Network (CTN) and curated by artists Casey Robin and Anika Orrock. The exhibit will run from May 5th to June 11th with an opening reception on Friday May 5th from 6-10pm where many of the artists will be in attendance.

The forty artists featured in Project Neverland are creative professionals working in animation, illustration, comics, and more. Some hail from as far as Taiwan, while others are local to the Los Angeles area. In preparation for the show, each of the artists re-read J.M. Barrie’s book and used it as a springboard for their own creations. They set aside the many film and pop culture adaptations of Peter Pan to create something that is truly their own. The result is a Neverland that feels both old and new, exciting and familiar.

To better share the creative journey, the Project Neverland exhibit will display sketches and preliminary works alongside finished pieces. This will offer collectors, students, and art lovers a unique glimpse into the artmaking process. The artists of Project Neverland employ a variety of styles and techniques to bring life to Peter Pan and his friends. Works range from elaborate sculptural pieces to modern digital paintings to traditional watercolor. This variety makes for a rich and diverse Neverland.
On Saturday, May 13th, Mother’s Day in Neverland will provide children and families with a fun set of Peter Pan inspired crafts and a reading ($5 materials fee.)
Additional events – including an in-depth discussion of the evolution of Tinker Bell – will be announced throughout the show’s run.
