20th Century Fox just released a trailer for The Book of Life, a new animated film produced by Guillermo del Toro and featuring the voices of Zoe Saldana, Diego Luna y Channing Tatum. When I first saw this trailer not only thought it looked stunning, but immediately recognized Jorge Gutierrez‘s style in it. He is responsible for a El Tigre, a show I love from Nickelodeon which he created alongside his wife Sandra Equihua. Gutierrez dedication to detail shows in the previews for this movie, which will also mark his debut as a director. Very excited for this project, specially since it also involves del Toro, who has proven his talent translates from live action to animation seamlessly as producer of films such as Kung Fu Panda 2 (with 3 in the works) and Rise of The Guardians. Also Gustavo Santaolalla will be in charge  of the music, with credits under his belt like The Motorcycle Diaries and Babel.  It will open in theaters October 17 2014.
